Margaret's bio

Background

Margaret, a native Memphian, graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, Art History, and French.  While pursuing her undergraduate degree, Margaret was a student in the Honors Psychology program, working closely with world renowned professors and researchers in the Health Psychology field at SMU as well as at The University of Texas Southwestern Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, studying the relationship between psychological factors, health, and illness.   

Margaret returned home to Memphis to study law at the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, receiving a Juris Doctor degree.  During law school Margaret served as a law clerk to the Shelby County Criminal Court Judges and was a student attorney through the Memphis Area Legal Services’ Juvenile Law Clinic. 

Margaret relocated to New York, and subsequently Los Angeles, pursuing a career in International Public Relations and Communications for over a decade,  primarily in the fashion, beauty, health and wellness, and entertainment industries.  She has worked directly with leaders and CEOs of global brands and corporations, including Fortune 500 companies, gaining valuable insight and knowledge along the way. 

Margaret once again returned home to Memphis and to the practice of law.  She was honored to serve clients in the personal injury area prior to joining the Bowders Law Firm, PLLC.  Margaret has been a member of the Junior Leagues of New York, Los Angeles, and Memphis, where she held positions of leadership in fundraising.  She also has been active volunteering over the years at her sons’ school, including roles as Treasurer of the Parents’ Association Board and Chair of the Art Appreciation Committee.  Margaret loves to travel with her family and always makes time to watch the sunset wherever she is.
